Members of the Laboratory Participated in International Conferences
At the end of the summer members of the Laboratory presented their researches at two large international conferences on linguistics — SLE and ALT.
From August 21 to 24, the 52nd annual meeting of the European Linguistic Community (Societas Linguistica Europaea) was held in the German city of Leipzig. SLE is one of the largest European linguistic conferences: this year there were 23 workshops, general and poster sessions, plenary talks and round tables. The total number of conference participants was close to six hundred.
Among this variety of linguists was a fair share of Laboratory staff. Presentations were made by Anna Volkova, Timur Maisak, George Moroz, Nikita Muraviev, Anastasia Panova, Elena Sokur and Johanna Nichols, Natalia Stoynova, Anna Klezovich, and Samira Verhees.
The conference of the Association of Linguistic Typology, one of the most respected professional linguistic communities, was held for the 13th time. This year it took place in the Italian city of Pavia on September 4–6, 2019.
The laboratory presented the results of its work in the talks of Polina Nasledskova (4th year undergraduate student) and lead researcher Timur Maisak. A talk was also given by Natalia Stoynova, another lead researcher of the Laboratory. Michael Daniel, Polina Nasledskova and Anastasia Panova presented their work during the poster session.
